This book is an important contribution to the theory of ethnic conflict regulation developed by scholars such as Lijphart, Nordlinger and Horowitz. Especially, the introduction part by O'Leary and MacGarry is excellent in the sense that it succeeded in incorporating the massive volume of existing cases and theories in a fairly organised way. However, it is regrettable that the following case studies are a bit messy, and do not correspond to, nor pay attention to the editors' taxonomy. Nonetheless, for those who are seriously interested in ethnic conflict regulation, this volume is worth reading. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?
